I had an interesting conversation a while back with the owner of a late-50’s Mack who was in the throe’s of a full-on restoration. He was telling about all the things he was doing and how proud he was of how it was coming together. When the conversation turned to the interior he made the passing remark about going to put in a 4-track tape deck. Later I got to thinking about how custom truck owners love their music and seem to always have a sound system in their rigs. But a 4-track in an old Mack? No way. I had a 4-track at one time and I know it was way after 1960. But I kept my mouth shut not actually knowing what “period” sound system might be more appropriate–until now…
